New Jersey Unemployment Drops to 9.6% New Jersey lost 7,200 jobs in the public sector last month, but added 5,300 in the private sector to drive down unemployment for a second month, according to preliminary estimates released by the state Department of Labor and Workforce Development Wednesday.
